Ground Central Graphics

Ground Central Coffee Company is a series of coffee shops throughout New York City. The coffee shops are designed to reflect everything that makes this vivacious city what it is and tell the dynamic story of New York, with coffee as its lifeblood and rock and roll as its voice. There is an extensive collection of vintage rock and roll records everywhere in the café to reflect the history, heart, and soul of New York.

The graphics that are displayed here were made for the Ground Central Instagram page. The graphics were created to be enticing, showcase the style of the coffee shop, and make you crave that NYC life. The graphics were created by using image compositing. For example the “Coffee Cup Bicycle” was a set of six images composed into one. The bicycle was created out of coffee cups, a cut out of the coffee grounds, and cut outs of coffee beans. All the different cut outs were then placed to form a bicycle. It was then placed onto a wooden background, shadows were added to create realism. Then the coffee splashes were cut from another image and added to this composition, as well as the Ground Central logo. The other graphics for Ground Central Coffee Company were created in the similar process of photo compositing.

Solifornia Graphics

Solifornia Fishing Company started in 2015 with a dream of changing the way the world perceives fishing and evolve the sport into a lifestyle or culture, similar to skateboarding. The goal was to introduce the element of creativity to the world of fishing. The company is all about infusing art, creativity, and street culture to revolutionize it into a young, fresh, and rebellious lifestyle.

I worked on several graphics for Solifornia Fishing Company’s social media accounts. The first two graphics, “Grape Fish” and “Endangered Species” were a collaboration of Solifornia and Welch’s Energy Drink to promote the energy drink on Solifornia’s Instagram account. It is a collage of all the things that come to mind when you think of Welch’s Energy Drink like grapes, purple ice, water, and others. All these objects are arranged on the fish’s body.

The idea behind the “Fish Pop-Up” graphic was to create a 2d pop-up book graphic, where the background and the fishes are created on separate layers, and brought into one composition. This graphic also uses multiple Photoshop effects to create a distorted look of the background to achieve the feel of being underwater. The idea behind the decal was to promote the releasing of the fish after it has been caught instead of killing it. The creation of this graphic was in two parts, creating the fish and then transforming it into an arrow. The idea was to create a recycle sign, which is just three arrows pointing at each other in a circle. Since this was a fish graphic, the arrows changed into fishes to promote the idea of fish and release. This graphic was later turned into a decal.

Lakeland Bank Graphics

Social media was an important part of promoting different products and services for Lakeland Bank, but it was also a great way to educate people on different life-style and financial topics, as well as promote the culture of the bank. Some of these ways was to create infographics to display certain products, as well as post vlogs, in which the content creator would write blogs about popular themes and banking tips, and I would turn them into vlogs that would be posted on social media, as well as the website. It was important to convey the messaging through short snippets of text and images/icons to make it easy and understandable for viewers.
